Lesson 3 : Truth will set you free

Woke up today with one of God’s greatest news. We WON! We won the legal case all because we believe in doing what is right, and standing up to the truth.

In the course of fighting for the truth, someone lost their job and of course the income as well. Yet, grace do come to support financially, spiritually and physically, faith has grown, confidence was achieved. Faith that God is in our midst, hope that He will carry us through the battle. Confidence that in this trial, He will give us strength, good health, clear mind, and wisdom to hold on to the truth. The truth that goodness and holiness has to prevail in our daily life even at work. We have to strive to be a better person and do not bend to evil deeds just to move forward in life. He stood up to that belief. The battle is over. WE WON in God’s grace and mercy.

Today’s gospel speaks of it so LOUD and CLEAR, a PRECISE PROCLAMATION Of HIS presence in our lives… and it says.

John 3:16-21

16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.

17 “Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Those who believe in him are not condemned; but those who do not believe are condemned already, because they have not believed in the name of the only Son of God. 19 And this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil. 20 For all who do evil hate the light and do not come to the light, so that their deeds may not be exposed. 21 But those who do what is true come to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that their deeds have been done in God.

We praise your name oh God for all the blessings and guidance you bestowed upon us all. Thank you Father!

Lesson 2 Do Good and it will bounce back to you.

Yesterday I refused to be a part of a scheme that involves dishonesty and greed. Though it will save me money I turned my back on the offer and let the agent know what I felt about the scheme.

I believe we have God to answer to, He is always watching, listening and can see us through. My loyalty is always with Him.

Anyway, today I still need to do something with my internet. I really need a company that I can rely on and I don’t want to be changing services all the time. So I am looking for the “forever” internet service provider…..

Found a company. Great Deal! I did not pay installation cost, no equipment cost, service was hooked up right after I hung up the phone and the agent was thorough and attentive. After I spoke with the Agent, I have requested for his supervisor.

Supervisor: Mrs Aquino, thank you for taking time to give credit to our representative.

Me: Their job is not easy, I would like to let you know that he did his best taking care of me. He did not give me big discount, he did not lower down my bill which was okay with me. I love that he was honest, detailed, and very prompt in providing me the service I need. I dont need bells and whistles. He focused only on my requirements and give his all to provide it. I am very satisfied with his service and I would like you to know how remarkable his attitude was and his sincere desire to help ….

Do good and good things will surely find its way to you

Lesson 1: HONESTY is the BEST POLICY

Comcast called and asked me to change my service to them. For x amount I will have internet and cable. With everything going up these days, this sounds so cheap and temping. But I refused because I already have Direct TV and am still under contract. Told him I only need a better internet service

Agent: Don’t worry Mrs. Aquino; I will set up your cable and internet. Then just call back later to cancel the cable and you will still have the internet at a lesser price.

Me: (in low tone of voice) Sir, do you realized that you are teaching me to steal from your company? You will spend time setting it up and use other person’s time to cancel them for nothing.

Agent: (Speechless) that was the practice of many to save money, it will be okay…

Me: Well, sir. It seems okay but not really. I hope someone is listening to this phone call because you are telling your prospective customer to steal from the company. The company who pays you so you can feed your family and let you earn a living. I am not judging you but I do hope and pray you will find another way to sell your service other than this option. I will put the phone down and hope you think about what I have said. Thank you.

Sometimes because it is easy and cheap we feel it is the best way to go. However, how honest can we be? What is the price of our integrity and purity of heart? This sounds so simple but this is still stealing and it could add up and could result to bigger sin and bigger mistake later on in life

I believe that doing it right the first time all the time will promote goodness of heart and better living. . Walking consciously to the path of righteousness will help us enjoy life with peace at heart freedom from the negativity of life. Karma is just around the corner and can hunt us back for as simple as this.

See God in all things

Good News Reflection
Wednesday of the Second Week of Easter
Saint Pius V, Pope
April 30, 2014

Today’s Readings:
Acts 5:17-26
Psalm 34:2-9
John 3:16-21
The Sadducees, filled with jealousy, laid hands upon the apostles and put them in the public jail. (Acts 5:17-18)

God in all things
Meditation from The word among us

How would you describe the feeling of jealousy? To some, it is an all-too-familiar stinging, burning, aching of the soul. According to Scripture, “Jealousy rots the bones” (Proverbs 14:30). How unpleasant!

Maybe we could think about jealousy as a matter of misplaced vision and skewed perception. Vision, because instead of keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus and his love and mercy toward us, we fix our gaze on someone else. And perception, because while we’re so distracted with the specific gifts, talents, and blessings that God has given another person, we can’t possibly perceive all that he has given us.

How can we discover that we are fearfully and wonderfully made with awesome gifts and talents of our own? How can we live like the person who God made us to be when we are so focused on the way other people are?

The best way to avoid being “filled with jealousy” is to fill ourselves with better things. Fill your mind with the truths of God’s promises and his grace. Fill your heart with his love and mercy. Let these be the things you reflect on every day. And when someone else is doing well or is getting something that you want, it will be that much easier to rejoice with them and then get on with being who God called you to be.

See God in all things
By Mary Lorelei Aquino

When I hear people hurting because of mean words
Or I will hear someone trashing someone
It hurts me to the bones but the truth is
From the old times till this very day, people like this exist.

How painful to witness how we cannot see Christ in others
I always believe God hears, sees, is witnessing all of these
How can living in deceit, lies, jealousy and pride be fun?
The same tongue used to blasphemed was the some one being used to ask for grace.

Think consciously of what we say or do
It is Christ in everyone that we will hurt too!
There is no excuse to be mean or demeaning to anyone
For God is in all of us, doesn’t matter, the color, the race, or even religion

Let us see God in all things as well as all things in God
Jealousy rots the bones , when the heart is filled with envy it couldn’t see clearly.
Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, his love and mercy towards us
Live like the person who God made us to be, beautiful heart and soul

Gaze on the love of God for us and the gifts, talents, and blessings that God has given us
Discover the truth that we are wonderfully made with awesome gifts and talents of our own
Let us not be the Sadducees of the new generation yet live to see God in all of us
Gaze on His goodness in His people, and help share His goodness and greatness among everyone

Faith is like the a bright ray of sunlight
It enables us to see God in all things
As well as all things in God (St. Francis de Sales)
Therefore, let us all walk with faith, love for God and each other! Amen.

Psalms 147:6 :The LORD sustains the humble but casts the wicked to the ground.
Proverbs 10:8 : The wise in heart accept commands, but a chattering fool comes to ruin.
Proverbs 11:2 : When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom
Proverbs 22:4 : Humility and the fear of the LORD bring wealth and honor and life.
