Today’s Memorial: Saint Clare
Pray for those in television industry:
Ezekiel 1:2-5, 24-28c
While I was among the exiles by the river Chebar, the heavens opened. (Ezekiel 1:1)
Experiencing the glory of God
With allegories, visions, and parables, Ezekiel carried the word of the Lord to the Jewish people in exile, constantly emphasizing the sovereignty and majesty of God. He is God, and he can appear and speak wherever he chooses. He is not limited to a building or a nation. Whether he was giving a message of judgment or consolation, God reminded his people over and over again that he is in charge.
A few hundred years later, God again broke through his people’s expectations when the Messiah came as a servant who died and rose for his people’s sins.
Even knowing all of this, it’s hard not to put limitations on the Lord. “But this is how things were when I was growing up!” or “She can’t possibly serve the Lord. Look at how chaotic her life is.” But the secret for recognizing God’s work doesn’t come by focusing on the limitations; it comes by humbly looking for his glory in whatever form it may take.
As you start your day today, try to think of two circumstances in which God might show himself in an unexpected way. Maybe you can try to find him in the quiet neighbor who always keeps to herself. Or you can look for him in a hard situation you are working through. Know that when you begin to make space for the Lord like this, you will look back one day and notice how some of those limitations and expectations have changed to reflect your ongoing experience of who he is.
When our belief in God’s glory affects our everyday life, we experience the joy of the Lord regardless of trials and difficulties. Others will want what we have, and so the glory grows.
My Amazing Father
What a joy to see your love through my neighbors!
What a great honor to feel your grace in times of sorrow!
What a relief to feel your embrace in times of pain!
What an amazing Father you are to me my Lord!
Explore my world and make it yours
Bring out the best of my abilities to honor your name
Let me live the amazing life you always desire for me
Let it be Your wondrous and marvelous will that will happen to me
Speak freely and let me hear your voice
Do unto me all Your desires and will my Lord
Do the unexpected upon me today and everyday
Let this life be useful for your glory and honor
Out of the Box Grace is what I ask of you my God
Let me do my duties with all my heart and mind
Never let me fall if it gets too heavy and hard
I will succeed in all my struggles for God is by my side
My jesus, my Savior and King
I will surpass all limitations and restrictions of life
For I hold on to your word “if God is with me who can be against me”
God alone is sufficient to live with peace and joy.
With You, I can move mountain because I believe
With You, I can walk on waters and fly as the eagles
For I know I have you and your unexpected grace and wisdom
To fill my life and the lives of everyone who believes in You
Jesus King of Mercy I trust in you!
PRAYER OF THE SOUL
Lord Jesus, your death brought true life and freedom. May I always walk in the freedom and power of your love and truth and reject whatever is contrary to your will for my life. Lord, invade my world with your presence today.”” Amen.
PRAYER TO JESUS CRUCIFIED:
Lord Jesus, there is never a time when we have the right to say, “cannot forgive”. Judgment must be left up to YOU. Our duty is forgiveness. Only when the heart is emptied of human bitterness can it be filled with Divine Grace.
May we greet this day with God’s love & peace in all our hearts. We only pass through this world but once….Any good therefore that we can do….any kindness we can show….let us do it now ….let us not defer it nor neglect it …for we may never pass this way again. Through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, all the angels and saints. In the mighty name of Jesus our Divine Mercy we pray. amen
