Open my eyes, Lord
I want to see Jesus
To reach out and touch Him
And say that I love Him
Open my ears, Lord
And help me to listen
Open my eyes Lord, expand my vision
Help me see your presence and your majesty
Let me see your goodness and your grace
Open my Eyes Lord to see further and see things brighter
Open my Heart Lord to accept all that you have given
Let your majesty move me to the land of holiness and righteousness
Spread my wings and let learn to fyl
Let me fly to you to and reach the destiny you designed
Open my heart Lord and accept all the plans set for me
I want to be with Jesus now until eternity. Amen.
Gifts of the Holy Spirit
”12 Brothers and sisters, I want you to know about the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
2 You know that at one time you were unbelievers. You were somehow drawn away to worship statues of gods that couldn’t even speak. 3 So I tell you that no one who is speaking with the help of God’s Spirit says, “May Jesus be cursed.” And without the help of the Holy Spirit no one can say, “Jesus is Lord.”
4 There are different kinds of gifts. But they are all given by the same Spirit. 5 There are different ways to serve. But they all come from the same Lord. 6 There are different ways to work. But the same God makes it possible for all of us to have all those different things.
7 The Holy Spirit is given to each of us in a special way. That is for the good of all. 8 To some people the Spirit gives the message of wisdom. To others the same Spirit gives the message of knowledge.9 To others the same Spirit gives faith. To others that one Spirit gives gifts of healing. 10 To others he gives the power to do miracles. To others he gives the ability to prophesy. To others he gives the ability to tell the spirits apart. To others he gives the ability to speak in different kinds of languages they had not known before. And to still others he gives the ability to explain what was said in those languages.
11 All of the gifts are produced by one and the same Spirit. He gives them to each person, just as he decides.” 1 Corinthians 12
Behold, the kingdom of God is among you. (Luke 17:21)
Do you like to rearrange furniture? Some people are very good at imagining a room in a different way, then moving things around to match their vision. Some may see a gap and go shopping for a small piece of furniture or a wall hanging that will alter the feel of a whole room. Some will determine that all a room needs is different lighting. Whether it’s a skylight, an overhead light fixture, or the softer glow of lamps and candles, a new source of light can show everything that’s already present to its best advantage.
This can be true in our spiritual landscape as well. Sometimes, we try to add things or move them around when all that’s really needed is some light to help us to see what’s already there. That’s why Jesus told these Pharisees to open their eyes and look. The kingdom of God was already in their midst. They just needed to see it!
When we let Jesus shine his light on our everyday lives, we may first notice the empty spaces. We aren’t perfect. We aren’t as cheerful or prayerful or generous or forgiving as God wants us to be. These are valid insights, and the Lord wants us to work with him to make the necessary improvements.
At the same time, however, God wants us to see ourselves in the light of his love. He doesn’t just want to point out the empty spaces. He wants to show us all the full spaces as well—all the areas where he is already at work, all the areas where he rejoices in our love and faithfulness. He wants to shine a light on the signs that his kingdom is already present among us.
Realizations like these may come suddenly, like a bolt of lightning, or they may dawn on us gradually, like the sunrise. But they will come if we ask for them. Jesus doesn’t just want to show us where to improve. He wants to tell us how much he loves the work we have already done in his name. He wants to tell us how proud of us he is.
So open your eyes today. Look for the signs of God’s kingdom. It’s all around you. It’s within your heart!
Prayer of the Soul
“Jesus, thank you for welcoming me into your kingdom. Help me to live in the light of your love today. Father, let this prayer be for every victim of Typhoon Haiyan, the families who have lost their love ones, those who have lost everything they own, those who are starving, homeless, sick and the child who dont even have things to cover themselves from the cold weather. Father, the situation they are into is devastating and heartbreaking. Father, we trust in your guidance and will. May everyone in charge be guided by you. Father, in your hands we offer the spiritual, physical and emotional healing of everyone. May we all leart from this and grow maturely in your spirit and grace. Through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, all the angels and saints. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
